Open in early October 2017, The Quintessence of Tonkin show is a new highlight to add any days in Hanoi. It promises to bring you back to pristine time, experiencing the daily life of people in Vietnam’s Tonkin in the past, feeling the sacred atmosphere and the cultural crystallization of the land with thousands years of literature.
The wonderful performance is on the first real stage in Vietnam with a surface of 4300 square meters water and the Sai Mountain as a background of decoration. With a large number of unprofessional actors, mainly local people, the art show plays the scenes vividly: fishermen in the river, the work of farmers in the field, urban life in the capital, traditional children’s games, the folklore painting of Dong Ho, religious customs…The moment when the prototype of Thuy Dinh of the famous Thay pagoda with 10 tones of weight slowly emerges from the water giving a big surprise and great impression to the spectators.
