According to the recently issued Resolution No 46/NQ-CP, citizens from 5 European countries including Britain, France, Germany, Spain and Italy will no longer need a visa to Vietnam for stays up to 15 days as long as they have return flight ticket or flight to the third country.
The policy will be in effect for one year, starting from July 1, 2015 and ending on June 30, 2016, and applies to all types of passports and immigration reasons, as long as they meet the conditions required by Vietnamese law.
However, please take note some other points below:
- This is a single entry visa, for stays up to 15 days. If citizens from these countries wish to re-enter Vietnam under visa exemption program again, the second visit cannot be earlier 30 days from the first time. Otherwise, you need to have visa approval letter and visa fee upon arrival is still 45 USD/pax with stays up to 30 days.
- For the multi-entry visa to Vietnam, all procedure are not changed, you always need visa approval letter and visa fee upon arrival is still 65 USD/pax for stays up to 30 days and 90 USD/Pax for stays up to 90 days.
- For Embassy visa that has been done, no refundable, even your stay is less than 15 days.
- In case you just transit at Vietnam International Airport/ Harbor for your connecting flight, you don’t need to get visa.
