The Vietnam Government has confirmed an extension of its single-entry visa exemption program until the end of June 2021. It allows visitors from 5 European countries (Germany, France, the UK, Italy and Spain) to stay in Vietnam up to 15 days without a visa.
The decision will be taken into effect from July 1st 2018 to June 30th 2021.
Vietnam's visa exemption for citizens of the five countries was first piloted from 2015 to 2016. The visa-free exemption scheme was due to expire at the end of June this year. It was the third extension for the scheme introduced in 2016.
The proposal of increasing the length of stay from 15 to 30 days along with multiple entries is being considered. The official information will be soon publicly and we will keep you updated.
The visa exemption is promised to increase the number of foreign tourists to Vietnam and bring about positive effects on the development of the tourism sector in the country.
